Collection of Antique Medical Boxes With Laxative and Cold Treatments
Item Details
A collection of eight boxes and tins with remedies for colds or constipation. The tall wooden box from Philadelphia has delicate brass hinges and a brass latch with no contents. The graphics are on three sides and the top and depict a woman taking medicine, directions for use, and the labeled bottle. A set of tins with plant material were made by Park, Davis & Co. of Detroit MIchigan. One small box, labeled Exodin, E. Scherling, Berlin, Germany, has contents and directions for use inside. The remaining four boxes describe remedies for colds and constipation and were made in the United States.
