Chippendale Davis Cabinet Company Bonnet Top Mahogany Highboy

A Chippendale mahogany bonnet top highboy by Davis Cabinet Company of Nashville, Tennessee circa 1940s. This piece features two swan crest arches at the top flanking a spiraling finial. Two small drawers are at the top, with four large drawers beneath and three small drawers at the bottom. The third drawer down folds down to reveal a secretary desk with cubbies and dividers. This entire piece has a decoratively scalloped apron at the front and is supported by four cabriole legs. Dovetail joinery is seen throughout. Each drawer is marked Made of Solid Genuine Honduras Mahogany.
