A vintage Howdy Doody push puppet toy. The 1950s iconic Howdy Doody television show introduced the Howdy Doody character puppet. This push puppet is made of strung painted wood parts with a plastic head complete with Howdy Doody’s red hair and freckles and felt neckerchief. He stands with his NBC microphone on a red plastic base marked ’Howdy Doody No. 180 Patent No. 2,421,279 A Kohner Product copyright Bob Smith. The puppet dances by pushing the base with a thumb.
