Early Emerson Burkhart Model Portrait

An early model portrait by Emerson Burkhart (American, 1905-1969). This recently discovered original oil painting on canvas depicts a young red haired woman- thought to be an art student, wearing a stern expression and a blue dress while holding paint brushes and a rag in her hands. It is signed by the artist in the lower left corner. This piece is presented in a molded walnut frame.

Condition

Consistent with age. Needs cleaning and minor repairs
