Vintage McPhail Baby Grand Piano
Item Details
A vintage baby grand piano made by the McPhail Piano Company of Boston. Andrew M. McPhail established his piano company in Boston in 1837. McPhail was an early innovator in the American piano industry, and his firm built very high quality pianos for well over a century. The A.M. McPhail Company was incorporated in 1891, and in the 1920’s moved their factories from Washington Street to Waltham Street in Boston. McPhail was one of the few American piano manufacturers to survive the Great Depression without being forced to merge with larger conglomerates, and they continued to build high quality pianos until the 1950s. The piano comes with a bench and cushion.
