A Thomas Lund Tortoise Shell Card Holder. Thomas Lund was one of the premier writing box and container makers in London in the early and mid-1800’s. The box is constructed with a tortoise shell veneer and opens to reveal an ivory interior with a violet velvet top with compartments on either side to hold cards of various sizes. The piece is marked on the interior Lund on one side with the location of the store on Cornhill.
