Ernest Shaw Original Graphite and Colored Pencil on Paper

Item Details

Colored Pencil on paper, Graphite on paper

An original graphite and colored pencil drawing on Strathmore paper by well-listed American artist Ernest Carl Shaw (born 1942), titled 30 second gold rings, 15 second graphite o’clocks, 30 second erasures and 5 second color journeys- time liberates, time denies… from Shaw’s The Master Builder Series, dated 1981. The image depicts six circular, scribbled non-representational forms, each alike yet facing different directions with their eyeball-like dark black masses. Title is written in pencil across the bottom edge. The drawing is mounted behind acrylic glass in a narrow blonde wood frame. A hanging wire and label with information about the drawing are attached to the verso.
