Published by Harper & Brothers N.Y. with copy rights from 1917 to 1940. This rare complete 10 volume set contains some of the most well loved children’s classics of all time. Robin Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, Heidi by Johanna Spyri , King Aurthur and His Knights by Sir James Knowles, Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Lambs Tales From Shakespeare by Shakespeare, Andersen’s Fairy Tales, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift, Hans Brinker by Mary Maple Dodge and Robin Hood by Louis Rhead, which was penned and illustrated by Louis Rhead himself. The collection contains hundreds of the most beautiful black and white drawings by Louis and his brother Bertrand. In fact prior to the publishing of these works the pair of brothers traveled to South America and many other places around the world to gather ideas and sketches for the books and each one a work of art. Each volume also has a exquisite full page color lithograph in the beginning of the story.
