A Portrait of a Solemn Man by Anne Fleckenstein. This original oil on canvas depicts a man in a dark work uniform complete with hat and jacket on a dark blue background. Painting is done in broad brushstrokes and is shrink wrapped to a flat board.

• Anne Fleckenstein (born ca. 1850) was a German born artist who studied in Dusseldorf and lived in Dresden prior to immigrating to the United States in the early 20th C. Provenance: Relative of consignor.

Condition

Good condition consistent with age. Some fraying near the edge.
