Vintage Mezzotint of a Boy and Dog
Item Details
A vintage mezzotint of a smiling young boy by an artist whose signature is signed in pencil to the lower right margin, but is indecipherable. The image depicts the boy standing with his greyhound as he holds a flower collar close to him, in an outdoor setting. Engraved text to the upper left and right margins indicate this print was copyrighted and published in 1937 by Frost & Reed Ltd. in Bristol, England. The print is matted in white with French lines and is presented without glass in a wooden frame with cast twists and speckled gold tone finish. A hanging wire is attached to the piece’s verso.
Condition
- light accretion on print and matting. Light scuffing across matting. Scratching to edges of frame.
