Whiting Division "Lily" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

A sterling silver flatware set by Whiting Division in the Lily pattern, first issued in 1902. The set includes: 13 hollow handled blunt dinner knives with stainless steel blades; 5 hollow handled blunt dinner knives with stainless steel blades; 12 place forks; 6 forks; 12 ice cream forks; 12 oyster/cocktail forks; 12 tablespoons; 6 round bowl gumbo soup spoons; 12 oval place spoons; 12 teaspoons; 6 5 o’clock teaspoons; 12 orange spoons; 1 master butter knife; 1 mustard spoon; 2 salt spoons; 3 cream ladles; and 3 sugar shell spoons (one still in plastic). All of the pieces are marked with the Whiting Division lion hallmark and Sterling; some are additionally marked: ‘PAT.1902 R’D 1903 or PAT. APR. FOR.’ The majority of the set is monogrammed with a variety of initials. Flatware includes a faux leather flatware storage case lined with tarnish-preventive cloth.
