Pair of Bookplates from "Military Misquotes From Shakespeare"
Item Details
A pair of framed bookplates from a book titled Military Misquotes From Shakespeare published in 1890. The first print, labeled at the bottom, How I am brav’d, and must perforce endure it. Henry VI, Part I – Act II, Scene 4, depicts a English styled solider in a red coat tail jacket and large gold toned helmet posed in front of other smaller figures on a street. The second print, labeled at the bottom, Our Captain hath in every figure skill Timon of Athens – Act.V, Scene 4, depicts a solider dungeon with a woman in a flowing white gown with other dancers and onlookers in the background. Both prints come matted and framed, the first in a brown wood frame and the second in a black and gold tone frame.
