Winold Reiss "Blackfeet Indians" Offset Lithographs

A set of twenty one offset lithograph prints of paintings by Winold Reiss from the series Blackfeet Indians of Glacier National Park. From 1920-1960, the Great Northern Railway used these images that Reiss completed after spending time on the Blackfeet Reservation as advertisements. The prints included are titled Yellow Head, Mike Oka, Bird Sings Different, Striped Wolf, Middle Rider, Morning Bird, Two Guns, Big Face Chief, Little Plume, Arrow Top, Jim Blood, Not Real Bear Woman, Heavy Breast, Nobody has Pity on Me, Dancing Boy, Short Man, Short Man (same title but different image), Singing in the Clouds, Tom Dawson, Evening Star Woman, and Scalping Woman. Each print has the title and a short description of the American Indian pictured printed in the lower margin. The prints are unframed and unmatted, awaiting your choice of presentation. German born artist Winold Reiss (1886-1953) is most well-known as the creator of the fourteen large glass tile murals in Cincinnati Union Terminal beginning in 1933.
