A pair of Bavarian character portraits. Original oil on canvas portraits of Bavarian gentlemen signed by the artist, M. Höwing, in red. One gentleman is depicted in profile smoking a longstem pipe; the man has a full white beard and is dressed in traditional clothing and hat with feathers. The other painting depicts a man looking straight ahead with crinkly eyes and a long white mustache. He wears a hat with a curled feather. Both paintings are framed in frames with textured silver finishes.
