A signed and numbered poster for the musical production ‘The Threepenny Opera’ with original music by Kurt Weill, and original text by Bertolt Brecht. The English adaptation was done by Marc Blitzstein, and the ‘play with music’ premiered in the Greenwich Village Theater de Lys in 1954, and ran again from 1955-1961. This poster was illustrated by David Stone Martin (1913-1992), a prolific jazz album cover illustrator of the mid twentieth century. It is signed by him to lower left in brown marker, and in black ink noted as 214/450. Housed in a simple black frame, under acrylic glass.

Condition

Light wear to frame consistent with age and use.
