Curtiss Brock Blown Glass Sculpture, Untitled
Item Details
A 1986, untitled glass sculpture by Curtiss A. Brock (American, 1961) featuring three perfectly situated hand blown glass orbs. The piece is comprised of a large, hollow base with a hole cut into the side and an indentation in the top created by hot glass gathered on the blow pipe. The base was rolled in finely crushed chips of white, brown and pink colored glass providing a mottled appearance, then sand-blasted to give the satin transparency of natural rock formations. The top crevice cradles a deep aubergine colored blown glass orb and a clear crystal orb sits in the interior. The sculpture rests atop a cylinder pedestal base that is included.
