Item Details
A signed, original Madoura pottery vessel by Pablo Picasso. In the 1940s, Picasso partnered with Galerie Madoura owners Suzanne and Georges Ramié to create ceramic vases, sculptures, tableware, and more. Over the course of 24 years, Picasso created, with the guidance and expertise of the Ramiés, over 600 pieces in limited editions. This circa 1950s hand-glazed figural bird pitcher stands in naturalistic browns, creams, and black. Signed ‘A147 Madoura’, ‘Edition Picasso’, and numbered 147/500 on the underside. The interior is marked with the Madoura stamp.
