An original etching by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (19th century, French) titled Sur la plage, à Berneval. This circa 1892, second state etching was printed by Loÿs Henri Delteil in volume 17 of Le peintre-graveur illustré. Renoir was a frequent visitor of Berneval-le-Grand, and created several drawings and paintings of the region’s waterfront scenery. This etching depicts two ladies seated on the beach as they watch a series of women wade into the waters of the English Channel. This etching is matted in white and mounted in a painted gold tone wooden frame. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Merrill Chase Galleries Ltd.
