Ohio-Made Roth-Reynolds Cornet Serial 89649

Item Details

An Ohio-made Roth-Reynolds cornet. The brass horn has mother of pearl accents on the valves. This horn is engraved near the bell ‘Roth; Made by Roth-Reynolds Inst Co.; Cleveland, Ohio.’ It has a Vincent Bach mouthpiece, the original Reynolds carrying case, and a Shastock Tonal Color Cup Mute. In perfect working condition. Mouthpiece is stuck on; may be removed professionally. It has some minor dings, some patina on the brass, and there is a small cracked piece of metal connecting pipes.
This horn was manufactured between 1959 and 1964. The manufacturer’s markings indicate that the horn was made after the 1952 Roth-Reynolds consolidation, but before the 1964 company move to Texas. Scant and conflicting records prevent exact year dating. Serial 89649.
