M.A. Hadley Handmade Casserole Dish

Item Details

A handmade casserole signed by Mary Alice Hadley (Kentucky, 1911-65). The lid features Folk Art style farm animals in green, orange and blue. The rim of the vessel and the tops of the handles are finished in a blue glaze. The bottom of the basin of the casserole reads ‘The End’. Both the lid and vessel are signed ‘M.A. Hadley’ to the undersides. The pottery company was started in the 1940s by artist Mary Alice Hadley and gained popularity until her death in 1965.
