A 1938 signed and numbered black-and-white photographic print of actress Hedy Lamarr by listed photographer George Hurrell (1904-92). After a brief German film career, Lamarr became a Hollywood film star of the late 1930s until the 1950s. Hurrell, known as the master of Hollywood glamour photography, captured the likeness of many young starlets rising to fame during the golden age of the silver screen as the head of portrait photography for MGM studios. This image was taken at his own studio at 8706 Sunset Boulevard after he parted from MGM. Signed ‘Hurrell’ and numbered 9/190 to the lower margin, the piece is presented under glass in a wooden frame with a matte black finish.
