Antique Howe Scale

An antique Howe scale model 4800. Made circa 1873, this antique Victorian cast iron double scale features red paint with gold tone letters and graphics, two weighing pans with two brass balance arms and sliding weights. The Howe company was founded in 1857 and continued success as a leading manufacturer of high accuracy weighing instruments until around 1962.
