A pair of vibrant handmade Oaxacan wood carving by artists Hilario Blas and David Blas. Oaxacan wood carvings are a form of Mexican folk art. Individual artists create hand crafted sculptures from copal wood. The carving depicts a frog and a lizard. The pieces have vibrant coloration and patterns, including yellow, red, orange, purple, green and black tones. The lizard is signed on the base of the tail ‘Hilario Blas San Pedro Cajonos Oaxaca Mexico Dom. Canocido’. The frog is signed on its stomach ‘David Blas Oaxaca Mexico’.
