A vibrant handmade Oaxacan wood carving by artist L. Pablo in the form of a polar bear. Oaxacan wood carvings are a form of Mexican folk art. Individual artists create hand crafted sculptures from copal wood. The carving depicts a polar bear. The bear is hand painted with vibrant colors including bright white, black, red, blue and orange, with a speckled black and white design throughout its body. The piece is signed on the underbelly “L. Pablo” along with the image of a lit candle.
