A vibrant handmade Oaxacan wood carving by artist Carlos Morales. Oaxacan wood carvings are a form of Mexican folk art. Individual artists create hand crafted sculptures from copal wood. The carving depicts a stationary pelican. The bird is hand painted with vibrant colors including bright blue, orange, red and purple. The piece is signed on the bottom of the right foot ‘Carlos Morales Arrazola Oaxaca’.

Condition

- there is a small chip in the paint on the left side of the beak
