Junghans ATO Atmos Clock and Glass Dome

Item Details

A Junghans ATO brass Atmos clock under a glass dome, circa early- to mid 19th century. The clock has a brass face with gilded brass Arabic numerals and elegant, simple hands, with a seconds sweep dial to the face. The pendulum is below, in a hammer type movement, and the escapement is contained within a brass case supporting the face. The pendulum swings back and forth through two brass tubes to either side below the face. The clock sits under a glass dome, and on a round brass base. Dials for leveling the clock are located to the left and right front of the base.

Condition

- tested February 2016. Slightly dusty. The pendulum has been locked for shipping: it unlocks for operation by means of a small screw to the front of the clock base.
