A limited edition woodcut print titled Fields Near Frentress by American print maker James Kirby (1931-1992). The print depicts a blue sky with a mountain range below in the background with a field of wheat, red, and blue to the foreground. The print is number 12 in an edition of 15. It is numbered, titled, and signed in pencil to the lower margin. Presented behind glass in a beveled wood frame with white matting; ready to hang.
Kirby is known for his woodcuts which were influenced by his love of Japanese woodblock printing. He discovered his love of the medium while studying in Chicago in the 1950s.
Condition
- print is crinkled around outer edges, and finish of frame is scratched throughout.
