Decorative Carved Openwork Wood Wall Clock
Item Details
A decorative carved wood wall clock. The clock has an arched pediment with crenellated carved decoration and a cross pattern at the apex, with a finial to either side of a vase with flowers. The front of the pediment is a carved openwork design of a crane among reeds, and a draped pattern below. The center section with the clock face is arabesques of carved vinework featuring a mirhab style opening for a pendulum. The clock is battery operated with a clear plastic bezel and Roman numerals on the face and decorative gold and silver toned hands with a sweep hand. The gold tone plastic pendulum swings beneath the face. The base of the clock is carved openwork featuring another carved crane among reeds, and the bottom has attached decorative pendants hanging beneath. Unmarked.
Condition
- to fair. Current battery working and clock was ticking and pendulum swinging at time of cataloging. The clock has been repaired in several places with glue. The bottom portion was at one time disconnected from the top and was reglued.
