A limited edition, 1970 original woodcut of ‘Flamingo’ by listed artist, Jacques Hnizdovsky. This woodcut depicts a flamingo with his long neck scratching some of his back feathers. He stands on long legs with webbed feet. The prominent colors are black and white and the woodcut is pencil marked and signed to the bottom, ‘Hnizdovsky: Flamingo, 1970, 85/120.’ The woodcut is on a gray marbled mat with a white toned frame. There is a wire to the back for hanging and a sticker that reads, ‘Spicewood Gallery & Design Studio.’ Listed artist, Jacques Hnizdovsky was born in the Ukraine in 1915 and passed away in 1985 in New York. He is known for stylized realism in his woodcuts, his main medium.
