An embossed reproduction print on board, from the original by French artist, Marcel Derain. This print depicts a French street scene with the people of France going about their day. The label on the reverse reads: Marcel Derain was born on December 17. 1914, the son of a French peasant farmer. While he was still a child, his parents moved to Paris, where he started his career as a painter. He studied under Pierre Moret, the celebrated French artist and sculptor. Together they traveled throughout the world exhibiting their works. Today, Marcel resides in a small French town where he specializes in the design of Churches. Early renowned for his portrayal of French scenes depicting the people of France in all their beauty and color, he brings to the canvas a new freshness.
