Sam Maitin Original Signed Limited Edition Abstract Serigraph
Item Details
17/180
An original signed limited serigraph on paper by very well-listed 20th century American abstract artist Sam Maitin (1928-2004). The image is signature of Maitin’s style, featuring a large puzzle piece-like form made of bright interlocking patches of flat colors. Areas of the image seem to hint at figural elements such as eyes, mouths, or breasts, but upon further inspection fade back as mysterious shapes in the abstracted composition. The print is signed and numbered 17/180 in pencil to the lower left. It is presented behind glass in a white wooden frame. A wire is attached to the verso of teh piece for hanging. Maitin’s work was collected by museums around the world, including The National Gallery of Art, the Tate, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and MoMA. He spent time in England on a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in 1968. More information about the artist can be found under Related Links.
