Vintage Angkor Wat Charcoal Temple Rubbing

Item Details

A large vintage charcoal temple rubbing from the bas-relief panels at Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia. The rubbing is on thick handmade paper and the rubbing technique results in an embossed appearance. It dates prior to the late 1960s as temple rubbings were outlawed to preserve the reliefs on the temple walls. The rubbing is presented in a black painted wood frame.
