Ethan Allen Federal Style Walnut Grandfather Clock

An Ethan Allen Federal style walnut grandfather clock. Constructed of solid mahogany, the piece features a bonnet pediment with full turned columns on either side of the face. The face features solid brass foliate spandrels with three dials at center telling month, day, and date. Raised brass Arabic numerals with a moving disc at the crown giving the Moon Phases in full color. The trunk, also with a glass door, features satinwood fan inlay at the corner, and the lower portion of clock features a crotch mahogany book matched face with contrasting satinwood fan decorations in corners. German designed and manufactured five tubular bell movement and Westminster chimes. The piece bears a plaque reading ‘To my son Todd J. Hicks The joy of my life 6-11-79.’ It is also marked ‘Dial-AR Model 3020 Movement E Finish 212 Serial 9178.’
