1890 J & G Meakin "Virginia" Covered Vegetable Dish

A 1890 covered vegetable dish by J & G Meakin, Hanley England in the ‘Virginia’ pattern. Oval in shape, the dish features a teal blue pictorial transfer of people and buildings with gilt embellishments. Finished with elegantly scrolled handles on either side, the lid features a similar design to its top handle and boasts a scalloped rim, repeated in the lip of the bowl. Marked Virginia, J & G Meakin Hanley England to the underside.

Condition

Fair. The dish has two small cracks in its side.
