1936 Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen Lodge Charter
Item Details
An official charter document created by the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen of America in 1936 to officialize the creation of a ‘Subordinate Lodge’, Lodge 135, located on the Chesapeake and Ohio railroads. The document lists the names of the members of the BRS who will be involved in running the lodge. It has a gilt seal with the organization’s logo stamped to the lower left, and is signed by the Grand President of the Grand Lodge, A.R. Lyon. The certificate is presented behind antique glass in a thin wooden frame with gesso striped embellishments and gilt finish. A wire is attached to the verso of the piece for hanging.
Condition
- paper is slightly yellowed, consistent with age. Light accretion across glass. Surface scratching and loss of finish across.
