An original, signed oil on canvas still life possibly executed by listed mid-century Italian artist Carlo Montesi. Montesi is best known for landscapes and still life imagery, and impressionistic styles of cityscapes. This painting represents a classical still life and a study of light and shadow, with the bowl of fruit and loose fruit on the table awash in light with deep shadows to the rear, in bright colors with highlighting. Signed to the lower right reading ‘Montesi’ and presented in a gold and black painted, flyspecked wood composite frame. Ready to hang.
