A rare example of an Arts and Crafts tile, by the Saturday Evening Girls, depicting a dog running with the wind, in a wooded field with a house, during a storm. The sgraffito, matte glazed decorated tile in tones of green and brown features the text ‘Beneath, from the pebbles, in passing, a spark’ from The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The reverse is marked with ‘360.5.11’, ‘S.E.G.’ and ‘R.B.’.
