Shaker Ladderback Rocking Chair
Item Details
A Shaker ladderback rocking chair. This rocking chair dates to the 1950s and features four horizontal slats to the back, finials, spindle arm rests with mushroom caps, and a cloth covered trapezoid seat. The rocking chair is painted a dark blue and has a covered cushioned seat and a back chair accent cloth. Both have a wool blue and white checkered design. Tied to the ladderback is a wool cushion in red, blue, and white. Unmarked. The chair was purchased Labor Day weekend 1969 at Clark Garret’s Labor day auction.
