An authentic Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller 670 Lounge Chair and 671 Ottoman with salos palisander veneer, black tufted leather and five-ply plywood. The ottoman has four splayed legs in black and silver; the chair has five legs. The chair has an adjustable headrest. These chairs first appeared on the market in 1956, assembled by hand and individually upholstered. The silver hardware attaches cushions to shells without disturbing the appearance of the wood and assures that this is one of the earliest 670s made.
