Mr. Shoemaker (b. 1941) is an esteemed member of the Quapaw, Shawnee, and Cherokee tribes, with art held in multiple public art collections across the United States. This piece features a Native American woman dressed in blue examining a wooden bowl in her hand. The artist’s name appears below the woman. Framed with black and sunflower yellow matting in a silver toned frame. The verso is marked in pencil to the backside ‘The Clay Bowl.’ Ready to hang.
Condition
- the verso is marked “The Clay Bowl” in pencil. A square patch is marked to the verso, likely a gallery sticker that was taken from the paper. The frame has a distressed finish; however, the finish still shows wear.
