1890s Pettibone Knights Of Columbus High Eagle Fraternal Sword

An antique Cincinnati Pettibone ‘Knights Of Columbus Grand Eagle’ sword with original metal scabbard highlights this listing. This antique ornate sword ,circa 1890s, was used in ceremonial events over one hundred years ago. The historic sword has a rare pommel design of an American eagle proudly perched atop. The brass crest has the initials ‘V.F.E.P’ at its hilt. Handle is black wood with the original chain, that extends to the eagle, on top of the sword. The sheath is also marked ‘V.A.M.’ This handsome word is silver plated and ornately marked ‘The Pettibone Broths MFG. Co Cinti, O’ Metal rings on outside of the scabbard are intact and attached. Enduring representative of Medieval history personified in this early relic.
Condition
- sword depicts wear and usage. Scabbard display some pitting from oxidation. No cracks or breaks. Handle shows some black paint loss. Wear consistent with age so its best to attend our Preview for a personal inspection.
