48 Star American Flag

Item Details

A forty-eight, five-point star American flag. The flag is made out of fine wool and has four circular openings along one side for display. The flag is heavily tattered to the edges and is discolored from use; the flag was flown outdoors for a long period of time. The forty-eight star flag was in use by the United States between 1912 and 1959 after the addition of Arizona and New Mexico, but before the induction of Alaska and Hawai’i.

Condition

- the flag is very tattered and torn along the seams of the stripes. The flag is also very dirty. Mothball holes to the blue fabric around the stars.
