Signed 3D Paper Art Reproduction by Jack Eisner
Item Details
A signed, 3D paper art work reproduced for and signed by Jack Eisner (American, 1926 – 2003). The piece has an abstract in a herringbone style pattern with cuts and folds to the paper to produce the three-dimensional effect in a shadow box, with the texture raised from the background. It is signed to the lower left front ‘Eisner.’ A tag on the verso states, ’ This copyrighted piece has been reproduced and hand finished under the personal supervision of the artist Jack Eisner whose signature in front proves its authenticity.’ Eisner trained at Cooper Union and the New York Industrial Art School. Eisner was most known for his paper caricatures of famous political and celebrity figures using paper and scissors, bending and curving the paper to create his signature paper sculptures. Please see the link here from an article in a September, 1945 edition of Popular Mechancis for a view into this prolific artist’s style and process.
