Vintage Cast Iron Mailbox Topper

A vintage cast iron mailbox topper. This cute decoration depicts a tall boy and a shorter girl dressed in primary colors: red, blue, and yellow, walking hand in hand, as flat but dimensional figures. The boy sports a red baseball cap and red shorts and shoes with a blue jacket, carrying a yellow book. The girl figure wears a blue bonnet, bright yellow cape, and blue shoes. The figures are cast on a thin white painted rail with a hole drilled for a screw into the mailbox from the bottom, and one for a screw to hold the topper in place from inside the mailbox. Unmarked.
Condition
- to fair for age. The figures and mounting rail show wear from outdoor exposure, but paint colors are still relatively bright. Some minor scuffing and paint loss.
