Vintage Framed Kalaga Burmese Tapestry
Item Details
A vintage framed Burmese Kalaga tapestry with image of a galloping horse at the center. Hand-sewn, the tapestry is embroidered with gold tone and silver tone sequins, glass beads, and orange and black thread against a black background. Unsigned, the tapestry is displayed in a wooden frame with dark brown mat and was once part of the personal art collection of one of Indiana’s former governors. An information placard detailing information about Kalaga tapestries is also affixed to the verso of the frame. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Condition
Minor wear to the frame.
