1929 Ford Model A Sedan
Item Details
A 1929 Ford Model A. “Daisy” spent forty years in storage at the old Forney Museum in Denver, and the past fifteen years carefully stored at her current home. This Model A leatherback sedan features its original Andalusite Blue paint with black fenders. Built on 2/12/1929, the car is outfitted with a 1928 steering wheel made of a red rubber composite material. The original horn, with matching serial numbers, is also included. The interior seat cushions have been restored to match the originals. The material used in the restoration of the roof and side panels will be included with the car. The original engine has been replaced. The 4-cylinder engine is water cooled, and can reach speeds up to 55mph. Mileage on the dash was 93,000 miles at the time of cataloging. This is a typical dash with a working ammeter. The odometer cable is not connected, nor is the cork gas gauge float. This project car does not have the throttle or spark connected. The lights and horn are attached, though not connected. The wooden frame and body are intact. The leather top, however, went missing in the late 1950s (when a certain teenager turned her into a convertible at a local Colorado drive-in movie.) There is room for two spare tires on either side of the front fenders. The attachment parts for the spares are included, but not the rims or tires. The four wire rims and wheels are true to the Model A period. The rear bumpers have been extended to accommodate the trunk, however, these are “period correct”, aftermarket attachments. Included with the car are a number of parts to complete its restoration, including window frames, handles, decorative elements, rear trunk and more (please note, the trunk straps are not attached.) The original hand brake, rear view mirror and “snow tire” belt are missing. The car has a new, three-year gel battery (under warranty through Bert’s Model A Shop of Denver), and the engine compartment has been rewired. The car has a new coil, a replaced ignition cable. An optional generator has been added, and the carburetor has recently been replaced with a reconditioned Zenith brand. The car has a clear title.

Lastly, the winning bidder is advised to check with their DMV / BMV to ensure that all necessary paperwork, tags, title transfer, et cetera are complete before the car is removed from the premises.
