Item Details

A superb handcrafted mid-century desk by Josef Otmar of Cincinnati in solid walnut. This fabulous desk has has been designed to float in the room with the outer side having open cubicles for storage or display and the working side of the desk with a file cabinet at the right and three drawers at the left. Josef Otmar (named after St. Josef the patron saint of cabinetmakers) is a fourth generation cabinetmaker who is renown as both a designer and a craftsman, specializing in Scandinavian style furniture. This desk was purchased from Mr. Otmar personally in the early 1960’s when he was still making furniture in the basement of his home in Montgomery, Ohio.

Condition

The desk is in very good condition with the only issue being slight fading to the top surface with a darker spot where a blotter was placed.
