Antique Walnut Victorian Bookcase

An antique walnut Eastlake Victorian bookcase. Circa 1880s. This stunning antique cabinet features solid walnut construction with burl walnut veneer overlay panels to the stiles and drawer fronts. It features intricately carved top moulding, spoon carvings to upper rail, and all original glass and hardware. This piece has three upper door cabinets with the wider center cabinet extending approximately 5’ beyond the side cabinets, and a step out base. The glass front cabinet sections all house three adjustable wood shelves with reeded front edges. The three lower drawers feature reeding to upper and lower edges, burl walnut veneer front panels, and pin and cove dovetail construction. All original ring hardware and escutcheons are present. This is a wonderful example of late 19th century workmanship. It appears to be constructed in three pieces and is located on the first level of the home. Professional movers are recommended.

Condition
Normal wear for age and usage. The upper right side carved trim is missing. Broken pieces are available. The remaining upper trim is loose. Some surface scratches and wear to the edges and base. Minor warping of veneer to drawer fronts. Split to wood back in middle section. Right door escutcheon is loose and left drawer is missing locking mechanism. No key is present. Water spots to interior shelves as well as to top of step out base. Suggest preview for personal assessment.
