Franciscan "Ivy" Pattern Dinnerware

Item Details

A large collection of Franciscan Ivy pattern dinnerware. Franciscan earthenware was produced in California by the Gladding, McBean & Co. and in 1948 the company introduced Franciscan Ivy, a hand-painted embossed pattern with climbing vines of green ivy. This large set offers a comprehensive tabletop setting that includes: eight dinner plates, eight salad plates, eight luncheon plates, sixteen bread and butter/dessert plates, eight fruit bowls, eight rim soup bowls, eight tumblers and sixteen footed cup and saucer sets. The collection also contains the following holloware: one sauceboat with attached underplate, one covered butter, one 13’ chop plate, one 18’ oval platter, one 7’ vegetable bowl, two 8’ serving bowls (one is broken), two creamer and sugar sets, one salt and pepper set and one two-tiered serving tray (missing part of handle). Some pieces include green trim and some do not.

Condition

Most pieces in good vintage condition. Sauce boat, salt shaker and a few plates/tumblers/cups have chips. One of the 8" serving bowls is broken into three pieces; they are included if repair is desired. The two-tiered serving tray appears to be missing part of the green handle that goes between the two plates. All pieces are readily found on the internet for purchase/replacement.
