A vintage signed original oil painting on canvas by well-listed Modernist landscape artist David Lund (New York, New York/ born 1925). The image is an abstract arrangement of round and soft square shapes of varying earth tones, on an underlying grid formation. The line quality undulates between thick and thin throughout the composition, and the organic application of paint moves from opaque shells to weightless washes, creating a visually compelling pictorial space. The artist signature is signed in paint to the lower right and dated 1954. This painting is mounted in a beveled wood frame with a natural stained finish. To the verso, a small paper pocket contains additional information about the artist and the painting, and a gallery receipt.

Condition

- accretion on painting surface and on frame. Frame is damaged along corners and edges. Mitered corners are slightly pulling apart. Painting is not securely mounted in frame.
